NFPA 13, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems 2025 Edition Paperback
The 2025 edition of NFPA 13, the Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems, introduces significant updates to enhance fire sprinkler system design and installation. Key revisions include the addition of listed vacuum dry pipe systems in Chapter 8, and provisions in Chapter 7 that allow the use of vapor phase corrosion inhibitors in the air supply for dry pipe and preaction systems to reduce corrosion. Chapter 4 has been updated to differentiate protection requirements for miscellaneous and low-piled storage. In Chapter 9, sprinklers in elevator hoistways can now be omitted under most conditions. Additionally, Chapter 18 includes updated load tables and changes to seismic coefficients (Cp), aligning with ASCE/SEI 7 for seismic design considerations. For international applications, Annex E has been revised to conform with ASCE/SEI 7 guidelines. These revisions provide clarity and improved flexibility for system design, ensuring better protection and compliance with modern safety and engineering standards.
